How to register for Gruha Jyothi Scheme offered by Karnataka Government

Karnataka government has started a scheme where the it is subsidising the electricity consumption upto 200 units.
Though there are a lot of information available online but there is not clear step by step process how to take the benefit of the same.

Follow these steps to avail the benefits

Step 1:
You might have tried English version of SevaSindhu portal i.e. https://sevasindhu.karnataka.gov.in/Sevasindhu/English
But, there you might have not been able to find the way to go to Gruha Jyothi Scheme.
Hence, go to http://sevasindhugs.karnataka.gov.in/

Step 2:
Click “Gruha Jyothi” option on the home page. Here is the preview

Step 3:
Once you are done with the Step-2 above, you’ll be redirected to another website where you’ll see the application form like below, Select your preferred language and enter the details.:

Step 4:
Enter your Aadhar Number: Once you enter the Aadhar Number, you’ll see a confirmation popup where after confirming the same the page now looks like this:

Step 5:
Click on Authenticate your Aadhar which will open following page for you

Enter your Aadhar Number -> select the check-box -> select OTP/Fingerprint confirm the OTP once you get it.

Step 6:
If your Aadhar was verified successfully in the step above you’ll be take to the applciation form again where you now need to click on Get Aadhar Details. This will fetch your name from UIDAI database and autofill the field Applicant Name as in Aadhar.

Step 7:
Submit the application and you are done. Now, you’ll get the receipt like this.

Important: Please note that though this scheme is luring almost everyone this brings an extra 13,910 Crore burden annually on the state as reported by Decan Herald
